I found my drama crack of 2021 and it’s definitely tvN Wed-Thurs fantasy rom-com My Roommate is a Gumiho (Frightening Cohabitation). My adoration of this drama is up there with how much I loved Start-up last year, less that the drama is a “work of art” but rather the drama “works my heart”. It makes me love and care about … Continue reading →
There is a Korean Youtuber who is making waves recently for gossip reveals on celebrities. The most recent reveal is that K-actress Jeon Ji Hyun‘s marriage is on the rocks and headed towards divorce. Reportedly her husband of 9 years (married in 2012) has moved out since last December and wants to divorce after cheating on her. She’s refusing to … Continue reading →
Okay, this post really should be a series of exclamation points and question marks and WTF headdesking. Or perhaps I’m simply unable and unwilling to look at that butcher’s cleaver that is time and accept that reality when I heard of this casting. K-actor Bae Soo Bin is returning to his sageuk roots joining the cast of Affection (Yeonmo) adapted … Continue reading →
K-actor Lee Do Hyun may be pulling a Song Kang this year with multiple dramas but I’m not too worried about his overexposure (yet). He’s currently in Youth of May and will also do Melancholia with Im Soo Jung, and now he’s also in talks for the upcoming webtoon adapted K-drama Hunting Dogs with Kwak Dong Yeon, and there will … Continue reading →
It’s midway through the airing of tvN Mon-Tues drama Doom at Your Service (One Day Destruction Came to My Door) and this is a good time to discuss and have more substantive feedback to add to the first impression. The ratings are trending the wrong way for this drama, starting with 4.118% in episode 1, reaching a high in episode … Continue reading →
The casting of male leads for upcoming jTBC drama Thirty Nine (39) is underway and it looks like the production has an eye for talented actors who will be complementary support to the three female leads for a female-centric drama. Yeon Woo Jin and Lee Moo Saeng are the first two actors offered the male lead roles in the drama … Continue reading →
The winds of casting gods shifts and turns and this time it’s a great surprise. The female lead offer is officially out for the upcoming K-drama adaptation of revenge novel The Youngest Son of Sunyoung (The Chaebol’s Youngest Son) and the prize has been presented to K-actress Shin Hyun Bin. I’m dying here because she’s totally different in every way … Continue reading →
Oooh, pass the popcorn, there’s a schism and fight fight fight going on within Lee Seung Gi‘s official South Korean fan club also known as Airen. Last week Lee Seung Gi confirmed he was dating actress Lee Da In, and days later a truck with an LED billboard was seen driving around Seoul scrolling a message warning to Lee Seung … Continue reading →
As if I need another reason to love newly arrived tvN fantasy romance My Roommate is a Gumiho, a guest star is arriving that adds another layer of cuteness plus nostalgia. Sadly Ryu Jun Yeol is filming a drama and Park Bo Gum is off in the army, but another Answer Me 1988 male lead is showing up to reunite … Continue reading →
Yup, when you assemble it together like the Avengers its hard not to see the way wind trends are blowing for the second half of 2022. K-ent discussed that six big name female lead K-dramas scheduled for the second half of 2021 are all noona-dongsaeng romances or pairings, with an older woman and (much) younger man. We have Song Hye … Continue reading →
The first teaser is here for upcoming tvN Mon-Tues drama You Are My Spring and it’s arriving in the middle of Summer on July 5th but I’m all for the abundance of spring time vibes forthcoming. The first teaser shows us female lead Seo Hyun Jin strolling in the spring time outdoors, dressed in a cute dress with her hair … Continue reading →
I’m still perplexed as to how jTBC greenlit Sisphus: The Myth and landed so many A-listers to star. Park Shin Hye could not have chosen better on what she could have known, though I would say reading the script for the first four episodes would have had me running for the exit. Who knows, she got to act with Jo … Continue reading →
I still remember the early days of Hyun Bin‘s career when he was the scrawny flower boy type, cut away to nearly twenty years later and he’s channeling The Rock physique more and more. He’s got a way broader set of shoulders and muscles underneath his suits and shirts that we see onscreen when he’s playing a character. He’s also … Continue reading →
