Filming is ready to start for upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs early winter drama Black Knight, which sounds all sorts of odd and interesting. The interesting part is the story and the odd part the casting, I would have switched up the two female actress roles due to their respective acting talents. Female lead Shin Se Kyung works at a travel agency … Continue reading →
It certainly feels like excessive attention has been paid to the relationship of top Korean stars Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, but it really is the wedding of the year for this 2017. Rain and Kim Tae Hee‘s nuptials would have given them a run for the money, and on my love side I would rank them equal, … Continue reading →
This is such great timing for C-actor Chen Xiao to debut a completely different fashion look right after a huge ratings hit. Immensely popular period C-drama Nothing Gold Can Stay (那年花开月正圆 That Year the Flowers Bloom and the Moon was Full) finished airing two weeks ago with an ending that frustrated viewers as much as the entire drama run was … Continue reading →
Filming has started for high profile 2019 period C-drama The Story of Ming Lan, with the mouthful Chinese title of 知否知否应是绿肥红瘦 (Zhi Fou Zhi Fou Ying Shi Lv Fei Hong Shou which means Don’t you know? The Green should be Plump and the Red Lean). It’s adapted from a popular novel much like many recent period C-dramas, and this one gets the … Continue reading →
Since Kim Nam Gil broke out eight years ago with Queen Seondeok in 2009, his career has been steadily on the high end albeit more consistently successful in movies than K-dramas. I’m a K-drama watcher so I’ll admit to rather forgetting about him after he did Bad Guy, I had a love/hate relationship with that drama but it was definitely … Continue reading →
J-actress Aragaki Yui is one of my faves since her debut and it’s been a sweet ride seeing her career new high in this recent year with hit doramas Nigeru wa haji daga, yaku ni tatsu (We Married as a Job) followed by Code Blue 3. Her next project is the October 2017 romantic comedy sports movie Mix about a ping … Continue reading →
It’s a rarity for C-ent to miss this broadly across the board, with only a few standouts, but I guess percentage wise it’s impossible to always be on point even with fashion. At the 2017 Elle Style Awards which took place this weekend in China, I find C-actress Ni Ni‘s pink chiffon layered ball gown the most enchanting of the … Continue reading →
There’s no such thing as lucky or successful forever, and the same goes for the preternaturally good looking. Even visual gods and goddesses have to stumble and one of the stalwarts of K-ent took a nose dive this week promoting his upcoming movie. Hyun Bin was out at the press conference for The Swindlers costarring Yoo Ji Tae and Park … Continue reading →
2018 is still a bits away but I’m already gearing up to check back into J-doramas thanks to a certain adorable charming actress diving into a new project that interests me. After her rumored boyfriend Yamashita Tomohisa put on his white coat (for the third time) in this summer’s highest rated J-dorama with Code Blue 3, it’s Ishihara Satomi‘s turn … Continue reading →
C-ent goes through It Girls like a fast speed conveyor belt and in recent two years Zheng Shuang has settled from her in every C-drama heyday to breaks between projects. This year she had the C-drama Rush to the Dead Summer with Cheney Chen and there are filmed C-dramas slated for 2018 but none have been top of the buzz … Continue reading →
If there is just one fashion slayer on the red carpet for a Korean entertainment event then I’m a happy camper, even better if it happens to be one of my beloveds. The opening night of the 2017 Busan International Film Festival, the Korean equivalent of Cannes, went off without a hitch and with plenty of star power. It was … Continue reading →
C-actress Liu Shi Shi debuted a short shaggy tipped haircut in recent months and the verdict is mixed on the look for this very delicate classic beauty. I love the intent and desire to change things up but find the exact style of her short shag not particularly well snipped. Maybe a professional hair stylist can explain why it’s very … Continue reading →
My favorite new K-drama is here and Mon-Tues will be owned by tvN‘s cohabitation rom-com This Life is Our First. As suspected when I heard the premise and saw the first promos, this is the K-version of hit J-dorama Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu (We Married as a Job or the literal translation title of Runaway is Ashamed But … Continue reading →
