My nearly 3 month long Wed-Thurs date with Lee Seung Gi is over, and zero regrets with the time spent. Unlike some of his stupider drama choices (*cough* Vagabond *cough*) this time tvn drama Mouse was too smart for its own good. It was like a math student who got the answer early on then trying to question and outthink … Continue reading →
JAW. DROP. Ok, I’m not sure what will top this for shocking dating/marriage reveal of 2021 but the bar has been set. The entirety of Wednesday in Japanese entertainment news was dominated by the announcement of marriage by 40 year old singer-actor Hoshino Gen and 32 year old actress Aragaki Yui. Like, in real life. Five years after the entire … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly an interesting ride to sit in the backseat on. SBS Fri-Sat drama Taxi Driver has been a solid medium-ish hit for the network, with ratings starting out at 8.7%, 10.7% and the most recent episode 12 getting 10.7%, 15.3%. I thought it would go up more after the promising start but there is still a chance … Continue reading →
I guess the denials from Han So Hee‘s agency about her being the leading lady of upcoming OCN supernatural thriller drama Island were indeed true because a few days later and we now indeed have a new lead and it’s not her. K-actress Lee Da Hee will be taking over the role vacated by Seo Ye Ji after her swift … Continue reading →
There are many levels and nuances to “bad”, which is why its such a great adjective with contextual flourish. Recently wrapped MBC Wed-Thurs drama Oh My Ladylord (Oh! Master) has now garnered widespread feedback as a terrible, no good, baaaaaad drama. But what kind of bad is it is what I, a non-viewer, am curious to know. So bad it’s … Continue reading →
Well this will put naysayers and conspiracy theorists to rest (I hope). The 2021 Baeksangs Awards released tons of behind the scenes information related to the voting for the winners and hold your horses because this stuff is super illuminating. Yoo Jae Suk was given the Daesang with 6 votes in the fast voting time this year in any category, … Continue reading →
Woah, I wasn’t expecting a leading lady casting this quickly and also did not expect this particular one. Yoona will be joining Lee Jong Seok in the upcoming legal drama Big Mouth, which will be the first time they are working together and probably about time. Both are top of the small list of drama leads in their age group … Continue reading →
Seeing the actors and actresses featured in the KOFIC K-Actor 200 List continues to impress me with the confirmation that South Korean entertainment is packed with talent. Very few idol-turned-actor/actress made this list so on just the actors and actresses who started their career in that field alone it is packed ten and twenty deep in each type of role, … Continue reading →
With the fall in K-drama ratings on television the last few years, with it I feel has also been the lack of mega hit OST songs, the kind that sweeps the nation and you can hear on every single cafe, restaurant, and store. I still encounter OST songs I like but don’t recall any in recent years that had the … Continue reading →
tvN drama Vincenzo aired simultaneously on Netflix and was consistently a top trending series on the weekends when new episodes dropped. So it’s even smarter for Jeon Yeo Bin to strike while the iron is hot with the streaming platform and pick as her next project the mystery thriller K-drama Glitch airing on Netflix. She plays a woman with a … Continue reading →
Well this is a first, I think. The 2017 KBS rom-com Fight For My Way starring Park Seo Joon, Kim Ji Won, Ahn Jae Hong and Song Ha Yoon is back in the news with the release of a Kakao webtoon adapted from the drama. The drama is described as slice-of-life and revolves around four friends who then become two … Continue reading →
There is a Chinese saying that if you knew it was going to come to this then why do what do you then (早知今日何必当初). Sure many times people will say they didn’t know it would end up this way but that’s rarely true, disputes have only a finite resolution options and thoughtful consideration can parse the most likely outcome. I … Continue reading →
This is the second weekend without Vincenzo and Mr. Koala is still expected tons of moping and general depression from me because I don’t have my trusty Sat-Sun morning companion. It happens every time one of my crack dramas finish and I plod along until the next one comes along. The cast and crew put in their heart and soul … Continue reading →
