I see The Uncanny Counter 2 as the tvN Sat-Sun placeholder to the arrival of Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun. I can’t say AR2 is going to be better than the first season in 2020 but that drama set the bar so low it’s hard to imagine this aged up installment will fare worse. Leads Lee Jun Ki and … Continue reading →
K-actor Namgoong Min has been winning awards and bringing better than usual drama ratings on all his recent projects, don’t know if he’s just that good at picking dramas or he elevates dramas that without him would not be as good. Currently airing Fri-Sat sageuk My Dearest got 10.6% ratings for episode 7 which is double the opening ratings in … Continue reading →
It’s clear now that Moving is the biggest K-drama for Disney+ and getting confirmation that it has the highest viewership of any K-drama on the platform is just perfunctory. If this drama aired on Netflix it would be HUGE based on how much people are talking about it, from the story to the acting to the execution and both the … Continue reading →
So Yang Zi hasn’t just been promoting her recently aired drama Lost You Forever Part 1, she’s also currently filming modern C-drama Story of Joy on top of recently finished filming other modern C-drama Stories of Youth and Love. Depending on timing we may see one or both of these modern dramas before Lost You Forever Part 2 airs and … Continue reading →
September 22nd baby, mark your calendars for some Kim Nam Gil level ass kicking to come! Not to the viewers but to the evil baddies in the upcoming Netflix period action drama Song of the Bandits, that makes for a more rip roaring version of Mr. Sunshine. While the poster above harkens back to the now classic Joseon Gunman, the … Continue reading →
It’s probably a good a time to be a K-drama airing soon on Disney+ because the platform finally has the major hit its been looking for with superhero drama Moving. There are accolades aplenty but even more important there is non stop buzz about it, with two episodes a week even allowing time for the drama to keep growing more … Continue reading →
For a drama with such a serious and dark title the two leads sure are sending massive romantic chemistry vibes. Park Hae Jin and Lim Ji Yeon currently star in SBS Thursday drama The Killing Vote, an ensemble piece about a vigilante enacting his own death penalty. I haven’t checked it out yet but coming across this Allure Korea pictorial … Continue reading →
An upcoming SBS thriller drama dropped it’s first poster today and it’s like a outside version of Squid Game. The drama War of Survival (Korean title 7 Escape) has Uhm Ki Joon as the mysterious gamemaster and contestant Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, and Jo Yoon Hee in a deadly game … Continue reading →
Put this is in the no need and even worse case scenario a really bad idea category. C-drama is going to remake critically beloved K-drama Flower of Evil, one of the best dark and twisty melodramas in recent years airing on Youku in 2024. It’s called Deceit and will star Chen Xiao and Yang Zi Shan, so thank god no … Continue reading →
So it’s nice to do a check in on how the K-dramas of 2023 have been so far. There has been quite a few hits in ratings and buzz but in terms of post airing long term quality and recommendation potential a few titles keep repeating in audience lists. The first by the wide margin is The Glory, which premiered … Continue reading →
The monster September editions of fashion magazines are coming out soon with the month always being the herald for the lynchpin fall fashion shows and trends to come. Kim Go Eun will have her own pictorial in Vogue Korea next month in collaboration with Chanel fine jewelry lines accessorized by Chanel couture. She’s been a great pick for the brand … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly a very appealing and sensible casting of two well matched leads in a genre I love. K-ent is reporting that Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk have been offered the lead roles in an upcoming romance K-drama called Acquaintances. She plays the successful founder of a headhunting firm but sucks at the interpersonal stuff and … Continue reading →
Today on August 22nd is also lunar date July 7th which means Chinese Valentine’s Day, which remains a celebrated date but so does Western Valentine’s Day on February 14th so it’s like getting two V-days heh. Many of the upcoming C-dramas released cute couple featured dramas or BTS pics to promote their drama on this day and most are just … Continue reading →
