A popular cable network drama screenwriter is making the move to the prime time big three, and I hope this move both increases her exposure while continuing to allow her to write in the same vein that made her cable dramas such a success this year. Screenwriter Baek Mi Kyung is moving from cable network jTBC to KBS for a … Continue reading →
I’m so utterly mesmerized by Gong Hyo Jin‘s giant enormous how is her ear not pulled off hoop earring in one of the pictures for the November Elle Korea pictorial. Now this is a fashion statement that makes a statement and is styled so perfectly to emphasize it’s size and show off Gong Hyo Jin’s enviable backside lines. She is … Continue reading →
It’s more good news wrapping up this October for cable network tvN as its Wed-Thurs K-drama Avengers Social Club (Baumdong Revenge Social Club) is rocking and rolling in the ratings, even above the also doing well This Life is Our First on Mon-Tues. Avengers started off with 2.900% AGB nationwide and has kept going on reaching the highest of 5.283% … Continue reading →
It’s been quite a long time since I’ve seen K-actress Han Ga In in anything so this upcoming October issue pictorial in Singles Magazine is a breath of familiar air. She’s such a complicated actress to follow, mostly because her acting is so singularly limited and blank. She tries but like fellow gorgeous natural Lee Yeon Hee cannot rise above … Continue reading →
I love Park Shin Hye and am rather amused at how her fashion always elicits an eyebrow raise from me. Mostly because it’s just not what I would have picked for her, at the same time she mostly pulls it off and still looks pretty enough. That’s my take for her recent two fashion choices at the press conferences for … Continue reading →
A smile from my cutie patootie Yoo Seung Ho is enough to life my otherwise crappy day so far. Even better is knowing that he’ll be back on the small screen for 8 straight weeks starting in mid-November. I am Not a Robot is a MBC Wed-Thurs drama that takes that time slot from the medical drama of Hospital Ship … Continue reading →
One of the cutest J-dorama rom-coms in recent years just got the highly shipped leads back together for a laudatory reason. Late 2016 hit J-dorama Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu (We Married as a Job) just took home some hardware at the Tokyo Drama Awards for leads Aragaki Yui and Hoshino Gen, who saw themselves back together … Continue reading →
A solid foursome has been assembled for upcoming KBS drama Jugglers which will follow currently airing Witch’s Court come early December. It’s an office romance drama and the few I can name off the top of my head this year have all flopped from Sensitive Boss to Radiant Office. Doesn’t mean Jugglers can’t flip the ratings switch for the genre … Continue reading →
There was a whole lotta solid primary colors and not a whole lotta creativity at the fashion rundown of the 2017 Grand Bell Awards (Daejong). White was the predominate color of choice for the ladies gowns, and the non-white ones all went with black, blue, and even one red. I also noticed more than ever the glossy too much BB … Continue reading →
The eagle has landed! Hahaha, just kidding, or maybe half kidding. It definitely felt like a momentous baby drop with news of the arrival of top Korean stars Rain and Kim Tae Hee first child. The bouncing bundle of joy is a little girl and Rain announced the happy arrival on his SNS account with a picture of little knit … Continue reading →
Currently airing SBS Wed-Thurs drama While You Were Sleeping is midway through airing and has turned out to be more entertaining to watch than a ratings success. I haven’t been following the scheduling of the follow up drama so it was a surprise to hear that the whole shebang is basically confirmed. SBS will be airing Nothing to Lose, a … Continue reading →
A hearty thanks to Marie Claire Korea for orchestrating such a phenomenal fashion paired with movie spread for the November issue. The magazine brought together K-movie Glass Garden costars Moon Geun Young and Kim Tae Hoon for a pictorial and evokes 70’s era countryside suburbia. It’s like Ang Lee dropped in to use his auteur vision on two talented Korean … Continue reading →
It’s good news for cable network OCN as its latest thriller drama Black is off to a good ratings start in the Sat-Sun time slot. That time slot has now become an OCN genre staple doing tense fare to mostly good and even great success. From Voice to Tunnel to Duel to Save Me leading to now Black, this last … Continue reading →
