So I had no clue C-actress Tang Yan was coming back with a drama until I saw the Chinese Valentine’s Day posters for A Moment But Forever. She was one of the A-listers prior to her getting married and having a baby and not doing an acting project since The Legend of Xiao Chuo in 2020. Her acting has always … Continue reading →
Hooboy, I am now more excited and also more nervous for upcoming xianxia C-drama The Last Immortal. I’m more excited because I quite liked the first teaser just released, not love yet but it doesn’t have too much of the annoying xianxia tropes. I’m nervous because of Zhao Lu Si‘s dialogue reading, OMG she is going to be raked through … Continue reading →
So in less than 24-hours C-actress Song Zu Er is being erased from the traces of her entertainment career. Since news broke that she had been reported for tax evasion and fraud, The allegations were that an agency employee reported her, under her real name and not her stage name, to the tax authorities for tax evasion and fraud to … Continue reading →
So there is an unexpected late summer bombshell on what has been a relatively scandal free few months in C-ent with more dramas than usual all airing to provide a glut of entertainment for consumption. Today C-ent reported that actress Song Zu Er has been reported to the tax authorities for tax evasion and tax fraud, reportedly by an employee … Continue reading →
C-actor Xiao Zhan is about to make 2023 a triple success year for him. CCTV has announced the premiere of modern workplace romance drama Sunshine by My Side (Sunshine With Me) for September 1st which is later this week. It will also stream on iQiyi and Tencent so I expect this drama to get lots of exposure. Xiao Zhan is … Continue reading →
Currently airing period drama The Legend of Zhuohua is not a bad story but C-netizens are crapping all over how old and visually unappealing Feng Shao Feng looks and feeling bad for Jing Tian and it’s just not a happy watch. But the story of a cold on the outside and kind on the inside royal male lead and a … Continue reading →
Now that the summer 2023 season is done it’s time to take a look at the biggest male actor wins of the season. I mean a performance in a drama that elevated an actor to yet another level. The biggest liuliang Xiao Zhan did well with The Longest Promise, the drama was meh to start but ended okay and the … Continue reading →
I’m not gonna lie and say that C-actor Gong Jun built upon his Word of Honor buzz for me with his most recent period drama Legend of Anle. It felt like he had a one track acting method and coupled with a very passive and restrained character led to a completely deflated performance. That’s why my initial optimism for Fox … Continue reading →
So Yang Zi hasn’t just been promoting her recently aired drama Lost You Forever Part 1, she’s also currently filming modern C-drama Story of Joy on top of recently finished filming other modern C-drama Stories of Youth and Love. Depending on timing we may see one or both of these modern dramas before Lost You Forever Part 2 airs and … Continue reading →
Today on August 22nd is also lunar date July 7th which means Chinese Valentine’s Day, which remains a celebrated date but so does Western Valentine’s Day on February 14th so it’s like getting two V-days heh. I love me a good melon and especially one that gives me a sliver of hope in something I am looking forward to. Over the weekend a melon was circulating broadly in C-ent that period xianxia romance drama Lost You Forever would air Part 2 not next summer 2024 but instead follow closing to the just finished Part 1 and … Continue reading →
Two C-dramas were affected this past week due to a rookie/newbie actor named Chu Zi Jun, who at 22 years old and barely into the industry may already be done with career wise. C-ent gossip is saying that Chu Zi Jun is being investigated for rape after an accusation, and that he was led away by authorities on the filming … Continue reading →
So Part 1 of Lost You Forever wrapped this week and was it a satisfying as all out drama adaptation of the novel for me. Not perfect and plenty of small detail changes here and there but it was faithful in narrative, tone, and pace. Originally Part 2 was scheduled to air during Lunar New Year 2024 so around January/February … Continue reading →
