There is a spate of period dramas filmed and waiting to air but modern romance C-drama Hidden Love feels like a refreshing outlier in its own school yard romance genre. It’s at least college era so both leads Chen Zhe Yuan and Zhao Lu Si are going back a few years in ago but believably. This week the drama hit … Continue reading →
So I checked out the recently premiered modern romance drama Road Home (Gui Lu) because it’s an adaptation of the same name novel by writer Mo Bao Fei Bao, who has another novel being adapted right now Into the Storm with Wu Lei and Zhao Jin Mai. Road Home stars Jing Bo Ran as a military explosives expert with a … Continue reading →
Okay, the posters for this drama look hella awesome and it may just be the first drama of Yu Shu Xin (Esther Yu) that I can stomach watching her in. The period C-drama My Journey to You (Chinese title 云之羽 which means Cloud Wing) just dropped official character posters that are surprisingly captivating probably because I was not expecting this … Continue reading →
Daaaaaang, even my heart is fluttering just watching Wu Lei pile on his best younger man ardently pursuing the woman of his dreams full court press in the just dropped new trailer for sports romance C-drama Nothing But You. The drama has set the premiere date for next week on March 27th and dropped a new preview where Wu Lei … Continue reading →
It’s actually normal for buzzy C-stars to be signed up to new dramas while filming current ones and maybe even more than one lined up. Strike while the iron is hot is super important and last year in 2022 was a MAJOR leveling up for C-actress Zhao Lu Si with back-to-back hit dramas Who Rules the World with Yang Yang … Continue reading →
So I’ll preface this by saying that I’m moderately excited for C-drama Only For Love but have pretty low expectations. That’s because C-dramas take any profession and workplace and just cosplay the shit out of it with pretty people and super sanitized settings and situations. The most recent two I watched was She and Her Perfect Husband with both the … Continue reading →
In the world of C-drama casting carousel this one was bound to happen and hopefully it does come to fruition since it’s as hot buzz as it can get. C-ent rumor mill says Dylan Wang and Zhao Lu Si will be pairing up for a xianxia romance C-drama titled Offering Salted Fish to Master (向師祖獻上鹹魚). It’s a sweet pupil romance … Continue reading →
I have no idea what dang video I may have paused over a second too long on FB because the last few weeks I’ve been getting recommended videos for the xianxia drama Ancient Love Poetry. Still have no desire to watch it lol but it is interesting to see snippets and still think “yeah, Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu … Continue reading →
I’m here just to see if Bai Lu actually goes through the entire laundry list of same level male leads in her casting carousel for the Republic era C-drama Northward. First it was Tan Jian Ci, then to Wang Yi Bo and last week got the big name Yang Yang connected. Apparently over the weekend Gong Jun‘s name was thrown … Continue reading →
C-novelist Priest is well known for being prolific and also having a subset of BL novels that are wildly popular. Her BL novels have been adapted into dramas Word of Honor and Guardian and a third Sha Po Lang was filming in 2020 into the drama Winner is King (烽火流金) but has languished on the shelf due to the soft … Continue reading →
This is certainly not the kind of real life interaction viewers and fans of Love Like the Galaxy want to see whether during airing or now months later. It’s not egregious but just a tad disappointing to actual watch the video. This week a BTS video of the horseback riding scene filming in LLTG had Zhao Lu Si crying and … Continue reading →
So the casting wheel changed up one rumored lead but kept the other and I’m meh with the change TBH. There are three chapters of the Fox Spirit Matchmaker ( 塗山小紅娘) stories to be turned into dramas, the first is the one we see promos for Fox Spirit Matchmaker is the Yue Hong chapter (月红篇) with Yang Mi and Gong … Continue reading →
So this is like the one perfect drama that doesn’t need any remake especially since plenty of C-viewers watched it already with subtitles. But alas a good thing can’t be left alone and C-ent has green lit and cast the remake of My Ahjusshi (My Mister) and is heading into production. The leads will be Mark Chao and young movie … Continue reading →
